BOTANY AND PHOTOGRAPHY FIELD WALK

Saturday, August 29
9:30 to 11:00 a.m.

Enjoy a stroll through the Arboretum’s exhibits to learn about the native plants growing there, and to photograph them (either with your smart phone or SLR camera). The walk will end in the Savanna Exhibit, where you will see a spectacular display of late summer perennials, featuring Blazing Star (Liatris) in peak bloom. The combination of these purple flower spikes along with the many species of butterflies it attracts is a photographer’s dream!

Director Pat Drackett and photographer Diana Thornton will co-lead the walk, and provide both plant identification and advice on photo settings and composition. For ages 12 and up. Members $5, non-members $10. Reservations requested. Limited to 10 persons.

***In accordance with Phase 3 of MSU Extension’s COVID-19 Re-Opening Guidelines, masks are required for persons attending Crosby Arboretum programs, in addition to the requirement of allowing for six feet of social distance between participants.

DIRECTIONS: The Crosby Arboretum is located off I-59, Exit 4 in Picayune, MS at 370 Ridge Road (between Wal-Mart & I-59).   Follow signs to Arboretum.
